
According to data from the National Statistical Office (NSO), published on Sunday, Mongolia recorded an increase in the number of criminal cases by almost 7 percent by 2025, as reported by MiddleAsianNews.
During the specified period, 47,480 criminal cases were registered, which is 6.3 percent more compared to the previous year.
The increase in the number of crimes is associated with a 43.2 percent rise in traffic safety violations, as well as a 1.6 percent increase in property crimes and 5 percent in crimes against life and health.
In the first eight months of 2025, about 23,000 violations related to driving under the influence of alcohol were recorded, including 2,097 crimes committed in such a state. Of these, 2,000 cases involved drivers without licenses, while 19,000 involved those who had licenses but were operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
According to the NSO, in 2025, the number of victims of various crimes amounted to 43,800 people, almost 18 percent of whom were children and women.
