
On February 4, a powerful dust storm was observed in Turkmenabad (Chardzhou), according to "Meteorological Journal".
According to information from the city meteorological station, wind gusts reached 19 m/s, and visibility decreased to 500 meters. The meteorological station located at the airport recorded wind gusts up to 16 m/s, which also led to a deterioration in horizontal visibility to 400 meters and vertical visibility to 240 meters.
Dust storms and haze were also noted in other parts of the region. In Kerkhi, the wind blew at a speed of 13 m/s, and visibility dropped to 2000 meters.
In most areas of the Mary velayat, dust haze was also observed, with dust storms in some places. In Bayramali and Kushka, visibility was 2000 meters.
In Mary, a dust storm raged, with winds reaching 16 m/s and visibility deteriorating to 900 meters.
