A new laboratory for intelligent driving has opened in China

A unique laboratory specializing in intelligent driving has opened in the Chinese city of Chongqing. This facility, covering over 5,000 square meters, is the world's first complete testing ground that combines the simulation of road conditions, weather effects, and vehicle behavior. According to the Kazinform agency, citing Xinhua, the new laboratory will significantly improve the testing system for autonomous vehicles.

According to China Media Corporation, the laboratory will conduct comprehensive safety checks on vehicles with intelligent systems before they go into mass production, covering both extreme and normal operating conditions. The main task is to enhance the level of technological readiness and safety of future mobility solutions, as well as to stimulate qualitative growth in the intelligent vehicle sector.

The laboratory has also developed a state-of-the-art intelligent towing system that allows vehicles to be moved at speeds of up to 130 km/h, significantly exceeding the existing industry standard of 100 km/h. This innovation helps simulate the behavior of road participants, including situations with the sudden appearance of pedestrians.

Additionally, the laboratory features an adaptive system that continuously adjusts parameters for rain, fog, and lighting, creating a highly realistic representation of dynamic weather conditions.

Another significant achievement is the ability to integrate a real physical environment with the simulation of complex traffic flows. This allows real vehicles to interact with simulated traffic in realistic conditions, addressing the issue of fragmentation often encountered in traditional testing.
