Prime Minister of Denmark: Early parliamentary elections will be held in the country in March

These elections, which were supposed to take place no later than October 31 according to the Constitution, are scheduled for March 24, six months earlier than the established deadline.

“The upcoming elections will be crucial, as over the next four years, we Danes and Europeans will need to rely entirely on ourselves,” noted Frederiksen, emphasizing the importance of defining relations with the USA and strengthening the national army.

The situation in relations between Denmark and the USA has worsened since the beginning of Donald Trump's second presidential term, during which he advocated for control over Greenland for national security reasons.

Bloomberg points out that by calling elections seven months before the end of her term, Frederiksen is likely seeking to secure a third term as Prime Minister.
