The Chief of Staff of the IDF, Eyal Zamir, has ordered preparations for ongoing offensive and defensive actions. He noted that "IDF units were prepared for such developments as part of standard combat training related to Operation 'Lion's Roar.' Any threat to Israel's security will have serious consequences, and we will not allow harm to our people and the northern border," Zamir stated.
Several rockets fired from Lebanese territory crossed the border and landed in open areas, while the alarm sirens did not activate, the IDF clarified.
Hezbollah confirmed that it launched rockets and drones from Lebanon towards Israel.
The group claims that these actions are revenge for the assassination of Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Nawaf Salam, published a statement on platform X, warning against rocket launches from the southern part of the country.
He noted: "Regardless of who is behind these actions, the launching of rockets from southern Lebanon is an irresponsible and suspicious act that threatens the security of Lebanon and provides Israel with justification to continue its attacks."
