In his statement, the Chinese diplomat commented on the death of Khamenei, which occurred as a result of military strikes carried out by the US and Israel on Tehran on Saturday.
He noted that this attack is a serious violation of Iran's sovereignty and security, and contradicts the goals and principles of the UN Charter and the fundamental norms of international relations.
The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, emphasizing the need to prevent further escalation of the conflict and to work together to maintain peace and stability both in the Middle East and in other regions of the world.
