As part of this festival, the goal was set to promote the unique traditions and culture of nomads, as well as to pass on this knowledge to future generations.
The festival gathered over 30 hunters with eagles from various regions, such as Bayan-Ölgii, Töv, and Selenge, as well as 16 participants from other countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, Hungary, and Russia.
The competitive program of the festival included competitions where participants in national costumes demonstrated their skills in handling trained eagles and horseback riding on specially trained horses. Special attention was given to participants with the most impressive costumes and equipment for the eagles, including their adherence to traditions.
Visitors were also able to enjoy performances by Kazakh artists and purchase traditional clothing and accessories. A Kazakh yurt was presented at the festival, where attendees could learn about its features and the lifestyle of nomads.
The organization of the festival was carried out by the capital's tourism department in partnership with the "Chingisi Khuree" tourist complex, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Policy, as well as the Department of Culture of the Bayan-Ölgii region.
The ancient method of hunting using birds of prey, including the golden eagle, has been preserved by the nomadic peoples of Central Asia for six thousand years. Mongolia, which successfully protects this cultural heritage, was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010.
