The Department of Meteorological and Ecological Analysis presents the weather forecast for March.
In the western aimags, the air temperature in March is expected to be at the level of the long-term average in eastern Zavkhan and northern Bayankhongor, while in other areas, the temperature will be above average (see Fig. 1).

[X – temperature below the long-term average, D – temperature above average, H – temperature close to average]
As for the central aimags, the average temperature in March is expected to be below the long-term figure in the eastern part of Selenge and the northeastern part of Töv, while in other areas it will be approximately at the average level (see Fig. 1). Above-average precipitation is expected in Selenge, eastern parts of Khövsgöl, Bulgan, and the northern part of Töv, while in other areas it will be within average values.
In Dornod, northern Khentii, and Sukhbaatar, it is also predicted that the temperature will be below the long-term average. At the same time, precipitation in most areas of Khentii, Dornod, and northern Sukhbaatar will exceed average figures, while in other areas, average precipitation levels are expected.
In the Gobi, on the contrary, both temperature and precipitation are expected to be above average in the regions of Ömnögovi, Dundgovi, and the southern part of Dornogovi, although the level of precipitation in other areas will be below average. In the remaining regions, temperature and precipitation will approximately correspond to average indicators (see Fig. 1).
