On March 1, predominantly cloudy weather is expected in the country. Nighttime snowfalls are possible in the central and northern regions of the eastern aimags, while during the day, snow is expected in the northern parts of the western aimags and in some areas of the Gobi, as well as in the eastern aimags. No precipitation is forecasted in other places.
According to meteorological data, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on March 1, 2026, the country will experience cloudiness. In the southern regions, the wind will blow from the southwest, while in other areas, it will come from the west at a speed of 7-12 meters per second. In the mountainous areas of Altai, the Arts-Bogd gorge, and the Gobi, as well as on the steppes, it will strengthen to 14-16 meters per second, leading to the formation of dust storms.
The weather forecast indicates that at night, the air temperature in the area of Lake Uvs, the Darhad Depression, as well as in the upper reaches of the Zavkhan River and the Tes River valley will fluctuate from -35 to -40°C.
The temperature in the mountainous regions of Khangai, Khövsgöl, Khentii, Zavkhan, at the sources of the Zag-Baidrag rivers and in the valleys of the Eg, Uur, Orkhon, Selenge, Yeruu, Kharaa, Terelj, and Kherlen rivers will be -27...-32°C. In the southern part of the Gobi region, temperatures are expected to be -7…-12°C, in the foothills of the Altai Mountains -13…-18°C, in the foothills of the Khangai Mountains and the Dariganga steppe -18…-23°C, while in other areas, temperatures will drop to -23…-28°C.
During the day, the temperature in the area of Lake Uvs and the Darhad Depression will be -24…-29°C, while in the upper reaches of the Zavkhan River and in the Tes River valley it will be -18…-23°C.
In the mountainous regions of Khangai, Khövsgöl, Khentii, Zavkhan, as well as at the sources of the Zag-Baidrag rivers and in the valleys of the Eg, Uur, Orkhon, Selenge, Yeruu, Kharaa, Terelj, and Kherlen rivers, the temperature will be within -12…-17°C. In the southern part of the Gobi region, the temperature will reach +3…+8°C, in the northern part of the Gobi region -2…-3°C, while in the foothills of the Khangai Mountains and the Dariganga steppe, as well as in areas with little snow, it will be -3…-8°C, and in other places -8…-13°C.
In Ulaanbaatar, cloudy conditions are also expected, with light snow at night and no precipitation during the day. The wind will change from southeast to northwest at a speed of 4-9 meters per second. At night, the temperature in the Yaarmag-Songino area will drop to -25…-27°C, in other parts of the city -18…-20°C, while during the day the temperature will be -8…-10°C.
