The National Center for Training Specialists in Child Nutrition and Food Production has opened in Ulaanbaatar

On March 24, 2026, a solemn opening of the new National Center dedicated to the production of child nutrition and training in the basics of proper nutrition took place at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education Gantulga Donorov emphasized the importance of proper nutrition and educational work in this area for the healthy development of children. He noted that this center will become a key institution for training specialists and improving their qualifications, as well as for developing scientific and methodological work. Speeches were also made by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia Choi Jin-won and parliamentarian Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren, who highlighted the importance of cooperation between the countries.

The goal of the new center is to centralize and develop educational and methodological work in the field of child nutrition, adapt international experience to local conditions, and prepare qualified personnel.

It is expected that this center will play an important role in providing students with nutritious meals that meet standards, as well as in fostering healthy eating habits among them.

In addition, a new workshop for food production and service has been opened at general education school No. 48, which will ensure safe and nutritious meals for more than 4,500 students. This school actively participates in a school nutrition program covering about 2,000 children.

This initiative is being implemented as part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Education, the Korea International Cooperation Agency, and the non-governmental organization VIT. It is part of a comprehensive program to modernize school nutrition in 10 educational institutions in eight districts of the capital and aims to strengthen human resources. It is expected that the combination of investments and systemic reforms in the field of child nutrition will significantly improve the health of students and the quality of the educational environment.
