In Dagestan, flooding began after the rains. A state of emergency has been declared in Makhachkala.
The head of the region, Sergey Melikov, reported a critical situation. He noted that utility services, which had prepared for worsening weather, faced more severe consequences than expected.
The most severe impacts are observed in Makhachkala, where dozens of houses are under water. More than 60,000 residents are without electricity.
Additionally, in Khasavyurt, a railway bridge has collapsed. According to preliminary information, no train was on the bridge at the time of its destruction; however, train traffic is now blocked.
In Derbent, roads are flooded, and local residents report that strong water currents are sweeping away and overturning vehicles. According to media reports, evacuations of people trapped in blocked houses are being conducted using boats.
