Smuggled Medicines and Jewelry from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan. Mass Arrests Conducted

Law enforcement agencies have uncovered a transnational group consisting of 15 citizens of Uzbekistan and 10 citizens of Kyrgyzstan involved in smuggling activities. Among those detained were two employees of the State Customs Service, one of whom held the position of shift supervisor, and the other was a border guard, suspected of complicity in the crimes.

According to information from the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR), the group regularly exported expensive medical products and jewelry from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan, which were then planned to be sold in the Osh region or smuggled into Uzbekistan. During the inspection of passengers' luggage on the "Istanbul - Osh" flight, significant batches of smuggled goods were discovered.
Medical products and jewelry were smuggled from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan. Mass detentions were carried out.

As a result of the investigation into the economic smuggling case, three citizens of Uzbekistan: U. B. K., I. M. T., S. U. A., as well as five citizens of Kyrgyzstan: I. Z. M., M. B. P., M. U. K., K. Sh. K., and S. B. K. were detained. They are being held in custody at the GKNB KR detention center.

According to the press service, the criminal group has organized more than 50 flights from Turkey since the beginning of 2025, resulting in the smuggling of over 50 kg of gold. These actions caused significant damage to the state budget.
