The State National Security Committee (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan reported the disruption of an international criminal group’s activities. During an operation in the Osh region, 15 citizens of Uzbekistan and 10 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were detained. Two employees of the State Customs Service were also detained, including the shift supervisor, as well as one serviceman from the State Border Service.
According to the GKNB, this group systematically engaged in the smuggling of medical supplies and precious items from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan for further sale in the Osh region and subsequent export to Uzbekistan.
During a joint operation with the State Border Service and the "Osh" customs during the baggage check of passengers on the "Istanbul – Osh" flight, significant quantities of medical supplies and jewelry were found among several citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
As a result of operational and investigative actions related to the criminal case on economic smuggling, key organizers and active participants of the criminal group were detained: three citizens of Uzbekistan (U.B.K., I.M.T., and S.U.A.) and five citizens of Kyrgyzstan (I.Z.M, M.B.P., M.U.K., K.Sh.H., and S.B.K.).
It has been established that in 2025, the group conducted over 50 flights from Turkey, resulting in the importation of more than 50 kg of gold. These actions caused significant damage to the state budget.
Currently, investigative activities are ongoing to identify other officials involved in the group's activities, as well as to assess the damage caused and to hold all guilty parties criminally accountable, according to information from the GKNB.
