The group was engaged in the import of gold and medical supplies from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan
According to information provided by the press service of the GKNB, 27 people were detained, including 15 citizens of Uzbekistan and 10 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, as well as two employees of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan — a shift supervisor and a serviceman.
The detainees are suspected of organizing a criminal group that regularly imported jewelry, including 50 kg of gold, and expensive medical supplies from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan, which were then transported to Uzbekistan.
During the inspection of passengers' luggage on the Istanbul-Osh flight, some citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were found to be carrying smuggled goods.
The organizers and active members of the criminal group, including three citizens of Uzbekistan — "U.B.K.", "I.M.T." and "S.U.A.", as well as five citizens of Kyrgyzstan — "I.Z.M", "M.B.P.", "M.U.K.", "K.Sh.H." and "S.B.K.", have been placed in the GKNB pre-trial detention center.
