In Kamchatka, particularly in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the situation has worsened due to a strong cyclone that has led to a sharp deterioration in weather conditions. As a result, a state of emergency has been declared in the city. Streets and yards are blocked by multi-meter snowdrifts, and public transport is virtually non-functional.

According to local news agencies, in some areas the snow cover reaches the height of the second and third floors of buildings.
In certain places, snowdrifts reach the height of four-story buildings.
Residents are facing difficulties: many cannot open their front doors and are forced to exit through windows or create tunnels in the snow. Although municipal services and rescuers are working around the clock, the volume of snow significantly exceeds the capabilities of available equipment.
Unfortunately, as a result of snow masses sliding off roofs, tragic incidents have been reported: at least two people have died. Authorities and emergency services are warning of a high risk of avalanches and further collapses, urging citizens to avoid being under building eaves and to refrain from clearing roofs themselves.

Snowfalls have also negatively affected logistics and supply: some stores are experiencing supply disruptions, and many institutions and enterprises have been forced to switch to remote work. The educational process in schools has been temporarily suspended.

Forecasters report that this winter season is one of the harshest in recent years. Adverse weather conditions persist, and the complete elimination of the cyclone's aftermath may take a long time.
