The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported the detention of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, T.M.Sh., who was extradited from Turkey. The suspect is linked to the terrorist organization "Islamic State".
According to the agency, the native of the Aravan district of the Osh region was engaged in spreading extremist ideas among believers, calling for the overthrow of the current government and the establishment of a theocratic state in the form of a "caliphate".
In addition, he actively recruited people to participate in military actions in the Middle East and planned to carry out terrorist acts on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
The detention took place in Istanbul, after which, on March 16, 2026, he was transported to Kyrgyzstan by SCNS officers. An investigation is currently underway.
