A citizen of Kyrgyzstan has been arrested in Turkey on suspicion of links to the international terrorist organization Islamic State. This situation was reported by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
According to information provided by the security service, the detainee, known as "T.M.Sh.", resided in the Aravan district of the Osh region and actively promoted terrorist ideology among the local population.
The investigation revealed that he called for the overthrow of the constitutional order and the establishment of a theocratic state referred to as a "caliphate." He was also involved in recruiting individuals to participate in armed conflicts in the Middle East on the side of terrorist groups.
Furthermore, the SCNS claims that the suspect planned to carry out terrorist attacks on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
As a result of counter-terrorism operations, this citizen was detained in Istanbul. On March 16, 2026, SCNS officers brought him back to his homeland for further investigative actions.
