In Bishkek, law enforcement officers detained a lawyer who is suspected of committing large-scale fraud, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a citizen with the initials K. E. approached them, stating that two unfamiliar women deceitfully obtained a significant amount of money by gaining his trust.
The investigation revealed that from February to October 2024, the women, introducing themselves as R. A. and K., assured the victim of their connections with high-ranking officials. They promised to help him purchase apartments and cars in Bishkek at prices significantly lower than the market rates. Under the pretext of these services, the suspects met with the man in various locations and ultimately received $90,000 from him.
In connection with these events, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 209 (large-scale fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the investigative activities, the identity of one of the suspects was established. She turned out to be A. R., born in 1984 and a resident of the Chui region. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, she has been working as a lawyer since 2008 and is a member of the Bar Association of the Chui region.
The investigation also suggests that this woman may have previously defrauded other citizens using similar schemes and unlawfully obtained their funds.
The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. The investigation is ongoing.
