The detention occurred during the receipt of 100,000 soms
A senior investigator of the criminal investigation department of the district police department, known as T.R.Z., was arrested in Talas on charges of extortion. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
The investigation revealed that T.R.Z., undermining the reputation of law enforcement officers, had been pressuring T.N.T. for a long time, systematically demanding money from him under the threat of criminal prosecution.
On February 21, 2026, after joint investigative and operational actions by GKNB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, T.R.Z. was detained while receiving part of the extorted amount — 100,000 soms.
At present, the detainee has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Talas police department, and investigative actions are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in the criminal activity.
