T. R. Z., a senior investigator of the criminal investigation department of the Talas region, was detained on charges of extorting a bribe. According to the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), he regularly demanded money from citizens, threatening them with criminal liability.
On February 21, operatives of the GKNB, together with officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, arrested him when he received part of the sum amounting to 100,000 soms.
The investigation revealed that for a long time, the suspect had been pressuring citizen T. N. T., demanding money from him, which negatively affected the reputation of the internal affairs bodies.
Currently, the detainee is in the temporary detention facility of the Talas city police. Investigative activities are underway to identify possible accomplices.
