A Briton who compared Kyrgyz sausage to a penis has been deported.
- The Issyk-Kul Regional Court reviewed the case materials and, in accordance with Article 390 "Violation of the established procedure for the stay or transit of foreign citizens and stateless persons" of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, and as a penalty for violating the migration legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic (KR), made a decision to deport British citizen Michael McFit beyond the borders of the KR. During the court proceedings, it was revealed that McFit lacked the necessary documents confirming his right to legally stay in the territory of the KR, - reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the KR. - Furthermore, according to the data from the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of the KR in the Issyk-Kul region, "the foreigner, through his unlawful actions, contributed to the emergence of mass protests by employees of the Kumtor Gold Company." These actions create conditions for the commission of a crime as defined by Article 299-1 of the Criminal Code of the KR ("Incitement of national, racial, religious, or interregional enmity," note by the author). In this regard, in order to prevent and suppress similar unlawful activities in the future, the GKNB authorities of the KR issued an official warning to the British citizen.
Kyrgyzstanis, however, are left with ongoing disputes on the Internet and amusing memes about horses and the infamous horse sausage as a memory of the Briton. The international community has once again been reminded that before writing about any exotic delicacies on social media, one should carefully choose their words and ensure the accuracy of information about these dishes.
