Under the name "Antikino" lies a private mini-cinema where visitors can enjoy their favorite films of their choice. Here, payment is made for renting a separate hall rather than for the film screening itself.
Specially equipped closed rooms for video viewing, referred to as "antikino," provide clients with the opportunity for private viewing. However, due to insufficient control in such establishments, cases of illegal content screening and violations are not uncommon.
Previously, such establishments were not subject to strict control, but recently inspections have begun. This was prompted by video recordings published on social media, which captured unpleasant incidents occurring at "antikino." Local residents express concern that these places are becoming potentially dangerous, especially for teenagers.
In response to numerous complaints from citizens, the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated raids aimed at identifying violations.
Ministry of Internal Affairs Inspections
According to information from the Bishkek City Police Department, on October 23 and 24 of this year, an operational-preventive raid named "Antikino" was conducted in the capital.
As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that an entertainment establishment named "Antikino" operates at the intersection of Toktogul and Gogol streets. In this place, the administration offers separate booths with access to media systems and internet resources containing pornographic and violent content intended for individuals over 18 years of age. At the same time, document checks were not conducted, and there were no measures in place to prevent minors from accessing prohibited content, which facilitated illegal activities.

Why is control over such establishments difficult?
It is noted that the owners of "antikino" often do not register their establishments under this name. Instead, they register them as ordinary individual entrepreneurs, using general terms such as "entertainment center" or "film screening services." As a result, control over them remains insufficient.
Expert Opinion
Sociologist Abdykayim Jusubaliev explains that "antikino" are private cinema halls where one can not only watch films but also have fun, such as singing karaoke. Initially, they were created as places for relaxation, but over time they lost this purpose and became sources of negative phenomena, especially among youth.

Psychologist Jumakazy Jumanzarov also emphasizes the importance of strengthening state control.
He adds that in traditional cinemas, films are shown in common halls, whereas in "antikino" — in separate rooms, which creates opportunities for intimate meetings. The closed nature and lack of control turn such places into potential sites for offenses.

The psychologist emphasizes that the consumption of synthetic drugs and alcohol negatively affects the mental state and cognitive abilities of youth, causing anxiety, aggression, and stress, as well as leading to decreased academic performance and deterioration of overall health.
