In the Osh region, 53 enterprises will be created for the processing of vegetables, meat, and rice

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan aims to increase the share of processed agricultural products to 25% by 2030.

According to the ministry's information, as part of this strategy, it is planned to open 385 processing plants in the republic.

In particular, for the Osh region, after analyzing the state of agriculture, the creation of 5 trade and logistics centers (TLC) and 53 processing enterprises is planned.

These new facilities are aimed at reducing losses of agricultural products, improving storage conditions, and developing processing. The main areas will include the processing of vegetables, fruits, grapes, milk, meat, wool, and rice, taking into account the climatic and geographical features of the region.

Distribution by districts:

Kara-Suu district – 1 TLC, 10 processing enterprises;

Nookat district – 1 TLC, 8 processing enterprises;

Kara-Kulja district – 4 processing enterprises;

Alai district – 1 TLC, 4 processing enterprises;

Aravan district – 1 TLC, 6 processing enterprises;

Uzgen district – 2 TLC, 6 processing enterprises;

Chon-Alai district – 5 processing enterprises;

City of Osh – 1 TLC, 3 processing enterprises.

Thus, all districts and rural areas of the region will be covered by these initiatives. Considering the specialization of the regions in terms of agricultural crops, this will provide new enterprises with the necessary raw materials.

“It is expected that this will lead to a reduction in agricultural product losses, the creation of new jobs, and an increase in the competitiveness of the agro-industrial complex,” the press release notes.

The ministry also calls on local entrepreneurs and potential investors to cooperate within the framework of these projects, which provide new opportunities for the development of processing and agribusiness in the region.
