The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan has announced plans to significantly increase the export potential for local producers in the Chinese market.

As part of this initiative, the republic has begun the process of developing and agreeing on five new protocols concerning veterinary and sanitary standards and inspection control procedures. The signing of these documents will ensure access for Kyrgyz goods to new segments of the Chinese market.

Among the products that will be eligible for export are: thermally processed beef and beef by-products; sheep meat and by-products; frozen horse meat and its by-products; horse hides; as well as live horses.

The adoption of these protocols will create opportunities for significant growth in export volumes and increase the competitiveness of local products, as well as allow for a diversification of the range of goods supplied to China.

Currently, Kyrgyzstan is already authorized to export over 32 types of agricultural and food products to China, including honey, beans, nuts, dairy products, fish, and wool. The expansion of the product list reflects the high trust of Chinese regulatory authorities in the quality and safety of Kyrgyz products that meet international standards.

The Ministry is actively working to support local exporters, including assistance in passing inspections in China, providing consultations, facilitating compliance with veterinary and sanitary standards, and promoting new products in the Chinese market.
