The Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services, Nurdana Oruntaev, familiarized himself with the work of the new Department of Engineering Surveys, which was established within the ministry. He visited a building that underwent major repairs, where the department director, Bolot Cholponbaev, presented a report on the completed works.
According to the department's information, Oruntaev emphasized that engineering surveys are crucial for the development of the construction industry. The minister noted that the success of the new department will depend on the qualifications and responsibility of its employees and wished them good luck in their activities.
The history of engineering surveys in Kyrgyzstan dates back to 1975 when, by the directive of the State Construction Committee of the Kyrgyz SSR, the Kyrgyz Main Institute of Engineering Surveys in Construction (KyrgyzGIIZ) was established. In 1993, this institute was transformed into a public joint-stock company.
In accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated July 15, 2025, the Department of Engineering Surveys was created under the Ministry of Construction to continue the work of the institute.
As reported by the ministry, the building, which had not been renovated for half a century, was completely renovated at the request of Nurdana Oruntaev and is now put into operation.
The main task of the Department of Engineering Surveys is to ensure the execution of engineering surveys at a high scientific and technical level, ensuring reliability and safety in the design, construction, and operation of facilities.
