In the Kochkor district, at the museum named after Osmonaly Sydyk uulu, there is a unique leather item — the "zhelinche".

This vessel, dated to the 18th century, is a rare specimen made from a cow's udder. Traditionally, it was used to store melted butter and cream.

“During the World Nomad Games in 2014, we showcased museum exhibits at the exhibition. At that time, a resident of Naryn, Abdrazak, inquired about the function of this item. He noted that he had not seen a similar exhibit in other museums,” shared museum employee Maksut Abdygazy uulu.

According to him, the "zhelinche" is a household item made from two goat udders, which can be compared to a modern baby bottle. By sewing the udder and filling it with milk, nomads fed orphaned lambs and calves. This vessel was also used to feed small children with milk and kumis, which was especially convenient during horse travel,” he added.

The "zhelinche" was made in such a way that the nipples of the udder were directed outward. It remained soft and comfortable for sucking for a long time, and even when it hardened, it became soft again when sucked.
