Currently, the main part of the building has been destroyed, and work continues on clearing the construction debris.
Judging by the current state, the walls, roof, and internal structures of the hotel have been almost completely dismantled. Heavy machinery is operating on the site, and construction waste is being removed.
- The demolition of the "Kristall" hotel was preceded by a decision made in October, based on the fact that the facility is located within a 50-meter protected zone of the river. Despite warnings, the owners continued to operate the building.
- Mayor Zhenishbek Toktorbaev previously stated at a city council session that the hotel is subject to demolition.
According to current legislative requirements, the protective zones of canals range from 6 to 50 meters on both sides. For example, the water protection zone for the Moyun, Zhany-Aryk, and Zhoo-Bas canals is 6 meters, while for the Ak-Buura river, it is 50 meters. For the Uvam canal, this distance is 30 meters on each side.
