At a briefing held today, the Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Darmankul uulu Bakyt, spoke about the migration situation of Kyrgyz citizens outside the country and the measures aimed at protecting their rights.
As of December this year, more than 798,400 citizens of Kyrgyzstan live abroad, of which about 341,094 are in Russia. This is 37,000 fewer than in the first half of the year.
The main reasons for migration include education, employment, medical services, business, and tourism.

To facilitate legal migration this year, within the framework of the pilot project "Unified Permit," 60-day permits were issued to 47,686 foreign specialists, while 35,088 received 360-day permits. These measures contribute to the legalization of foreign labor and increase revenues to the republican budget.
The Deputy Minister noted that the department is actively combating illegal employment, with the main problems faced by migrants including the lack of written agreements, illegal employment schemes, passport confiscation, as well as a shortage of housing and social guarantees.
