In Tashkent, 945 thousand units of pyrotechnics, confiscated by customs and law enforcement agencies, were destroyed in a special operation. According to the Customs Committee, attempts to import this prohibited item began in the summer, with Kyrgyzstan being the main source of supplies.

The destruction of pyrotechnic products took place at the fire and rescue department of the Bektemir district, where the total value of the destroyed goods amounted to nearly 500 million sums, as reported by a correspondent from "Gazeta".

Since the beginning of this year, Uzbekistan has recorded 136 cases of confiscation of pyrotechnics, resulting in the seizure of more than 7.35 million units, with a total value of 2.3 billion sums.

Deputy Chairman of the Customs Committee Otabek Choriev noted that the main supplier of pyrotechnics is China, and over 90% of cases in 2025 are related to this country. Kazakhstan ranks second among exporting countries.

He added that Chinese products are characterized by low cost and often enter Uzbekistan through Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. "Previously, the increase in attempts to import pyrotechnics was mainly observed in October and November, however, this year the first case was recorded as early as July," emphasized Choriev.

According to him, pyrotechnic products were most often attempted to be transported not in passenger cars, but in trucks. There have been cases where pyrotechnics were hidden in various places under the chassis of vehicles, disguised as agricultural products that are delivered from the Fergana Valley to the Kuylyuk market in the capital during the summer.

Of the confiscated items, 700 thousand units were seized by customs, more than 240 thousand by internal affairs agencies, and over 5600 by National Guard officers.

The destroyed batches mainly included rockets and firecrackers with names such as "New Century," "Winter Forest," "Snowflakes," "Happy New Year," "Britanic," "Mickey Mouse," "Golden Sand," "Wolf," "Mi-mi-mishki," "Happy Boom," "Seven Shots," "Royal Salute," and others.

The destruction process proceeded as follows: pyrotechnic products were first soaked in water and foam, then crushed by an excavator and buried.
