According to Maria Kushubakova, a doctor from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, pyrotechnic products, including firecrackers and fireworks, can pose a serious threat to health, especially for children. She expressed these concerns during a live broadcast on "Birinchi Radio."

Kushubakova explained that the use of pyrotechnics primarily has a negative impact on the respiratory system, and improper handling increases the likelihood of injuries, including damage to the eyes, skin, and hands, which can lead to burns.

Additionally, the doctor noted that exposure to a large amount of smoke can cause poisoning, which most often occurs in children.

She strongly recommends adhering to strict rules for the storage and use of pyrotechnics. After using a firecracker, it should be placed in water to prevent the possibility of incomplete combustion. Used pyrotechnic products should not be stored in plastic or glass containers, as high temperatures can lead to their destruction and injuries to those nearby.

It is also important to monitor the expiration dates of pyrotechnics and not to use products that have expired.

In case of injuries, one should seek medical help immediately and avoid self-treatment, the specialist added.

It should be noted that many pyrotechnic products contain oxidizers, among which oxygen-containing salts such as chlorates, nitrates, and perchlorates are commonly found.
