Vapes and energy drinks increase the risk of diseases among students, - expert
She also emphasized that such habits can negatively affect the health of girls who plan to become mothers in the future. In particular, during pregnancy, these substances can impact fetal development.
“As a result, newborns may face chronic diseases that were previously much rarer,” she noted.
Jumabaeva added that various informational events are held among students aimed at raising awareness about harmful habits.
Moreover, cases of mental disorders caused by stress are not uncommon among young people. The clinic has a staff psychologist who provides assistance to students.
The expert explained that students often resort to energy drinks due to overload: many study and work simultaneously to pay for their education and housing. “They attend classes during the day and work at night, which leads to the need for energy drinks to maintain their performance. We observe this in practice. Frequent consumption of energy drinks leads to tachycardia. Sleepless nights worsen overall health, and students come to us with complaints of feeling unwell. At the same time, they admit that they haven't slept for several days, consumed energy drinks, and did not adhere to a normal diet,” she added.
According to the doctor, at early stages, diseases may not manifest clearly, but over time, this leads to cumulative consequences.
