Government bodies and local authorities should abandon pyrotechnics
The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision has proposed replacing traditional New Year fireworks with drones and LED illuminations.
This recommendation is due to the negative impact of pyrotechnics on air quality, especially during the winter months. During temperature inversions in this period, there is a sharp increase in the concentration of pollutants. Additionally, the use of pyrotechnic products leads to the generation of significant amounts of waste and increases the risk of fires.
The ministry emphasized that modern eco-friendly solutions, such as light installations, LED illuminations, and drone shows, can create a festive atmosphere without harming the environment.
