Construction of underground pedestrian crossings and bus stops has begun on Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue in Bishkek. The mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, officially launched the works today.

According to the press service of the mayor's office, the project includes the creation of four underground crossings along the section stretching from Semetey Street to Masaliev Avenue. One of the crossings has already been put into operation. It is also planned to install 16 modern bus stop complexes along the section from Akhunbaev Street to Semetey Street.

Due to the start of construction work, the section of Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue between Masaliev Avenue and Semetey Street is temporarily closed to vehicular traffic.
The mayor called on the responsible services to monitor the quality of the work and to complete the construction within the established deadlines. The mayor's office emphasized that the start of the works coincided with the holiday weekend, which will help minimize inconveniences and traffic load for the residents of the capital.
