Starting from January 1, 2026, a section of Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue, which runs from Semetey Street to A. Masaliev Street, will be closed.

The mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, announced that this restriction will last until January 10.

The reason for the closure is the construction of four underground pedestrian crossings. According to the mayor, there will be a total of five underground crossings on Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue, one of which has already been completed, and it is also planned to install 16 bus stops.

It was previously reported that two underground pedestrian crossings would be added on Ch.Aitmatov Avenue. In a comment to AKIpress, Rashid Akkuliev, a leading specialist from the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of the mayor's office, noted that one of the crossings will be located at the intersection with Minzhylkyiev Street, and the other with Abdrakhmanov Street.

The construction work for the underground crossing at the intersection of Aitmatov and Minzhylkyiev has already been completed.
