According to information from local authorities, the work on removing the railway track is being carried out in accordance with the directive of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The dismantling affects the section of the railway on the route Jalal-Abad–Kök-Jaŋgak from kilometer 406 to 421.
Specifically, the dismantling will be carried out on the stretch from T. Baizakov Avenue in Manas to Ormon Bi Street in Oktyabrskoye.
It is known that the last train passed through this route back in 1998, and since then the railway line has not been operational. The length of the section to be dismantled is 15.4 kilometers.
The dismantling work is scheduled to be completed by February 1. A new road will be built in place of the old railway.
