The project will be implemented with the involvement of investments
The project includes the electrification of a key section of the Turk-Sib — Balikchy railway, which is over 200 kilometers long. This route is an important link in the transportation communication between the two countries.
According to preliminary estimates, the cost of the project will be approximately $297.7 million. Financing will be carried out through attracted investments and possibly international loans. The implementation of the project includes the transition of the railway line to electric traction, the upgrade of the power supply infrastructure, and the modernization of auxiliary facilities.
It is expected that the project implementation will start in 2027, and its completion may take about three years. This will increase the railway's capacity, reduce operating costs, decrease emissions, and enhance the country's transit capabilities.
Currently, the project is in the development stage, and the final parameters, such as timelines, funding sources, and implementation format, will be clarified after the preparation of the feasibility study and agreements between the states.
