The repair of the highway has been ongoing for 4 years
The founder of the LLC "Kyrgyz Road Construction" was arrested by the order of the head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, reports the Region TV channel.
This decision was a consequence of the delays in the repair of the Balykchy-Barskoon road, the work on which began in 2021 and is still not completed.
Kamchybek Tashiev announced this directive during a meeting dedicated to the construction of the highway during his working trip to the Issyk-Kul region.
Project representatives and contractors were given a strict warning.
“The cost of the project has increased from 798 thousand dollars to 1.3-1.4 million dollars. The work has not been completed within the planned timeframe! It is obvious that the organizational aspects are in an unsatisfactory state. Oversight from the state supervision is also insufficient. I will take personal control of the road works. If you do not complete it on time and with quality – there will be severe punishment,” warned the head of the special services.
