Tashiev inquired about the percentage of the Balykchy - Barskoon road that has already been completed. A company employee responded that the remaining work would be finished by August 31.
“Do you have no conscience at all? Five kilometers can be finished in a month! You have taken eight months for this! How can we talk to you? What should we do about your work? My head is spinning already,” he exclaimed.
The Minister of Transport and Communications, Absattar Syrgabaev, also expressed doubt that the company would meet the specified deadlines.
“Don’t even dare to try! Starting tomorrow, you won’t sleep at home. Set up a tent and a bed by the road, and sleep there. The project must be completed by May 30! And the heads of the departments of the GKNB located in the areas where construction is taking place will monitor this,” Tashiev said, addressing the company director.
He also noted that over the five-year period, "Kyrgyz Zhol Kurolysh" has only managed to complete 40% of the 46 km road.
“What should we do with you?! Five years have passed! You need to be detained, made to cover all expenses, and imprisoned for 10-15 years so that others do not dare to drag things out! In Uzgen and Kara-Kuldja, roads are being built in just a few months, and this is under difficult conditions. And you have a flat road in Issyk-Kul, without mountains. By the time you finish, the president's term will expire. How can you work like this?! Take a shovel in your hands, work! You will be held accountable for every penny. If you don’t complete it, I won’t leave a stone standing on another from you! And set up red flags so that no one escapes abroad,” the head of the GKNB concluded.
