This reservoir is located near the village of Ara-Köl, which is part of the rural district of Cholpon. The area of the ice cover is about 20 hectares, and every day between 300 to 400 people come here to relax.
In winter, the lake completely freezes, and the thickness of the ice can reach 70-80 centimeters.
Local organizers provide services such as hot tea and rental of skates and sleds.
The reservoir was visited by specialists from the Kochkor district state administration, the tax service, the emergency situations department, the internal affairs department, and the rural administration.
During the visit, they held discussions with the vacationers, informed them about safety rules on the ice, and measures to prevent emergency situations. They also addressed issues related to creating conditions for winter tourism.
The organizers were warned about the necessity of strict compliance with the instructions from the district services. For the entertainment of the guests, artists from the Kochkor district house of culture and the Cholpon rural club performed. At the same time, police officers ensured control over the ice area and prohibited vehicles from driving onto the ice.
