In Toktogul, located in the Jalal-Abad region, historical photographs of buildings and organizations erected about 50 years ago have been preserved, reports Turmush correspondent.

According to the information, these institutions and enterprises were established between 1969 and 1973 by the directive of A.N. Kosygin, the chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, based on resolution No. 1805 dated August 28, 1968.

At that time, Toktogul had the status of a "town-type settlement." To enhance the comfort of local residents, multi-apartment buildings with an area of 120 square meters were constructed.

During this same period, various factories, a bus depot, the district association "Kyrgyzselbhoztekhnik," as well as RDSU, MSO, PKM, RSU, and UOS were built, along with administrative buildings and other industrial facilities.

As a result of these construction efforts, 16 new villages emerged, and about 4,500 standard and residential houses were built. In addition, a House of Culture, a public service center, medical institutions, kindergartens, and schools were opened.

Furthermore, during this period, the construction of the largest facility—the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station on the Naryn River—was completed.
