The Environmental and Technical Supervision Service under the Ministry of Natural Resources has begun preparations for an official inspection of the activities of the LLC related to the pollution of the important Osh—Nookat highway.
Local residents report that the access road to the stone crushing enterprise has turned into mud, which heavy machinery is transporting onto the main road. The mud, mixed with water, flows to the roadside and clogs irrigation channels intended to carry water during floods.
The Osh Regional Office of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service confirmed that an on-site inspection is being conducted and appropriate measures will be taken. According to their information, the crushing and sorting enterprise belongs to LLC "Osh-Stroy Service." "There was a discharge of water on site, but the area has already dried up. We will send an official letter to the Ministry of Economy to obtain permission for further actions, such as warnings or other measures. During our visit, the owners were not present, only workers," the office noted.
According to available information, the company "Osh-Stroy Service" is engaged in stone washing and gravel production in this area.
Previously, after the appointment of Jenishbek Toktorbaev as the mayor of the city of Osh, the issue of problems related to quarries in this area was raised. The mayor emphasized the negative impact of roadside quarries on the environment and soil.
Last year, a decision was made to relocate the stone crushing quarries located along the Osh–Nookat highway to other areas, as well as to carry out greening, dismantling of fences, and improving the condition of the territory. It was reported that the licenses of several quarries may be revoked, and their operations are subject to closure.
It was also planned to construct irrigation channels along the road to direct water into the main canal, as there is a risk of mudflows in the area during the spring period due to heavy precipitation. The construction work on these channels, initiated by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, has not yet been completed.
According to the Ministry of Justice, LLC "Oshstroyservice" underwent re-registration on May 8, 2015. The founder of the company is Aizhan Kalibekovna Borbueva, and the director is Zhanibek Akparalievich Azhimamatov. The main activity of the company is building construction.
