In Kyrgyzstan, responsibility for the illegal transportation of goods across the border has been tightened.

Changes to the Code of Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding the illegal transportation of goods and vehicles across the borders of EAEU countries come into effect, as reported by the State Tax Service.

According to information from the press service of the STS, the amounts of administrative fines have significantly increased:

• for individuals — from 10,000 to 20,000 soms;
• for legal entities — from 28,000 to 65,000 soms.

In the case of repeated violations within a year, the amount of fines increases:

• for individuals — from 20,000 to 40,000 soms;
• for legal entities — from 65,000 to 100,000 soms.
Additionally, mandatory confiscation of illegally transported goods is provided for.
The Tax Service noted that there has recently been an increase in attempts to import goods by passenger cars through the "Ak-Zhol" control point without accompanying documents. This list includes items such as cosmetics, dietary supplements, medicines, tobacco products, mobile phones, vapes, and electronic cigarettes.

The STS urged citizens and entrepreneurs to closely monitor compliance with legislation to avoid fines, confiscations, and other negative consequences.
