The State Center for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers, which is subordinate to the Presidential Administration, reported that initially this preferential period was set from January 15 to February 15. However, considering the appeals from citizens, the government decided to extend it.
Thus, the period for the preferential exchange of indefinite licenses has been extended indefinitely, without a specific deadline.
During this transitional period, old licenses remain legally valid within the country. After its completion, such documents will lose their relevance and will be subject to mandatory replacement with new ones.
Due to the increased number of appeals from citizens, the state center urges the population to avoid creating panic and excitement.
The extended validity period of the simplified replacement procedure allows citizens to take advantage of this opportunity at their own pace.
To expedite the service process, it is recommended:
- when visiting departments or submitting an application online, to have your passport and old-style indefinite license with you;
- to check in advance for any administrative fines and, if necessary, pay them, as the presence of unpaid fines may lead to delays in providing the service.
Citizens whose licenses are not registered in the "Tündük" system and are not digitized should contact the relevant branches for document replacement. Others can use the online format for replacement without the need to visit offices.
Additional information about the timelines and subsequent stages of replacement will be published in official sources and the media.
