Is it necessary to change driver's licenses?
Yes, the replacement of licenses is mandatory. Although the old licenses are still valid for now, their use will soon become impossible.

What is the deadline for replacement?
For the convenience of citizens, a transitional period has been established. From January 15 to February 15, old indefinite licenses can be exchanged for free. Those who do not manage to replace their license during this period will have the opportunity to do so later, but on a paid basis.
After the transitional period, old licenses will cease to be valid and will require mandatory replacement.
The State Center for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers will officially inform the public about the deadlines and subsequent stages of the replacement.

Why is the replacement of licenses necessary?
The reasons for replacement are that old driver's licenses lack digital protection, are not recognized in some foreign countries, and have a low level of security and outdated photographs. These factors complicate identity verification and create security risks.
New licenses comply with international standards, have improved security features, and provide a higher level of safety.
To simplify the replacement process for citizens, the government has implemented several facilitative measures:
- A medical certificate of form 083 is not required;
- License replacement can be done through the online system "Tündük";
- The service acquisition procedure has been optimized to avoid unnecessary haste and costs.

How to obtain a new license?
Citizens whose licenses are displayed in the "Tündük" system are advised to apply for replacement online without visiting offices.
To do this, you need to go to the "Services" section, select "Road Transport and Driving," then "Application for Driver's License Replacement." Next, you need to specify the delivery address and undergo photo identification.
Residents of the Chui region are advised to choose the nearest departments in Bishkek — Eastern, Alamedin, or Tash-Dobon departments.
Those citizens whose licenses are not digitized in the "Tündük" system need to visit the relevant offices in person to replace their documents.

How many citizens will be affected by this replacement?
The exact number of issued indefinite licenses is unknown; however, some citizens have already managed to replace their documents.

How long will it take to receive new licenses?
The process of manufacturing a new license will take up to four working days from the moment the application is submitted. Applicants can track the status of their application through the "personal account" in the "Tündük" app.
If the application is rejected, to check the status, you need to go to the "Submit Application" section, where the reason for the rejection will be indicated. In case of denial, the applicant can reapply, uploading a new photo if necessary.
