It is possible that the deadline for the free replacement of driver's licenses will be extended. This was reported by Daiyrbek Orunbekov, the head of the information policy service of the President's Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, on his social media.
He noted that free replacement of old-style licenses is currently being carried out.
“This process has been allocated a month. If someone does not manage to do it within this time, an additional period will be provided. There is no need to worry. We have also canceled the requirement for a medical certificate in form 083, which will significantly simplify the process for citizens,” he added.
According to him, old licenses are often forged. “There is information that they continue to be produced and sold in Moscow. Many licenses have lost the clarity of photographs and inscriptions.
Moreover, old licenses are not accepted in other countries,” he continued.
New driver's licenses, unlike the old ones, are recognized in a number of countries and can be used freely. Furthermore, the new documents will be digitized, which will significantly reduce the risk of forgery,” Orunbekov explained.
He also emphasized that after the replacement process is completed, old licenses will become invalid.
“We are creating conditions for free replacement without the need to present additional documents. Citizens whose licenses are not in the 'Tündük' system and are not digitized will need to apply in person at the branches,” he explained.
“Those whose licenses are already displayed in the 'Tündük' system will have the option to exchange documents online, which will eliminate the need to visit the branches,” he added.
