He reported that currently, the exchange of old licenses is taking place without any payment. Citizens are given one month to complete the procedure; however, if someone does not manage to do so, an extension may be possible.
Additionally, the requirement to provide a medical certificate in form 083, which was previously mandatory for document replacement, has been canceled, significantly simplifying the process.
During his speech, Orunbekov noted several reasons why it is necessary to replace old licenses. Firstly, they were often forged, and such cases, even outside of Kyrgyzstan, are still being recorded. Furthermore, many licenses have lost the clarity of photographs and textual information. Secondly, a number of countries do not recognize such documents.
The new driver's licenses, which will be issued instead of the old ones, are recognized in several foreign states and have digital protection, which minimizes the likelihood of forgery.
After the completion of the replacement process, the old licenses will be deemed invalid.
Citizens whose licenses are not registered in the "Tunduk" system will need to contact the relevant government agencies. Those whose data is in the system will have the option to exchange their license online.
