A modern state laboratory for early diagnosis is planned to be created in the Kyrgyz Republic

Kanybek Dosmambetov, the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, announced a project to create a modern state reference laboratory in the capital of the country. This information was disseminated by the ministry's press service.

The planned center will be equipped with advanced technology and will use a digital platform for data collection, as well as its own logistics. In addition, a network of regional branches will be established, which should improve access to diagnostics and reduce the financial burden on citizens.

This decision is due to the fact that the current state laboratory service does not meet modern standards, making timely diagnosis difficult, especially for oncological and other serious diseases. The minister noted that late visits by patients at stages 3-4 of the disease remain one of the main problems. The lack of an effective laboratory system, according to him, negatively affects the early detection of diseases. He added that an accurate diagnosis is half the success in treatment.

As part of the project, the ministry is also focusing on staffing issues. The Kyrgyz State Medical Academy has been tasked with considering the possibility of opening a faculty for training laboratory profile physicians, and medical colleges have been recommended to improve the training of laboratory assistants. Professor Rysbek Abdildaev, a specialist in early detection of oncological diseases with experience in the USA, has been involved in the scientific and methodological support of the project.

During a visit to one of the leading private laboratories, the minister familiarized himself with its operations, including the organization of diagnostic processes, quality control, and logistics. Private laboratories currently perform a significant portion of research, which leads to increased costs for citizens. According to Dosmambetov, the creation of a unified state laboratory will help reduce this financial burden.

The minister also emphasized the need for automation and digital analytics. Electronic data exchange and analysis of nosologies will allow tracking the prevalence of diseases and risks in various regions, which is important for managing the healthcare system and developing evidence-based medicine.

The ministry will continue to analyze logistical and technological models to implement best practices in the new reference laboratory. The project includes the construction of the laboratory from scratch, the purchase of equipment, the creation of a regional network, as well as the implementation of a quality control system and a digital platform.
