The press service of the ministry reported that in recent years there has been an increase in the use of synthetic drugs, especially among young people, which poses a threat to national security.
In this regard, the Ministry of Health plans to enhance preventive and rehabilitation efforts, including cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education. This will involve conducting awareness-raising activities in schools and universities.
The ministry intends to open a state rehabilitation center for drug addicts based on the existing center for post-stroke patients in the village of Dachnoye in the Alamudun district, which will accommodate 80 beds. At the same time, patients who have suffered a stroke will receive treatment at the Kyrgyz Scientific Research Institute of Resortology and Rehabilitation in Tash-Dobo based on medical indications.
The minister emphasized the inadmissibility of the operation of illegal rehabilitation institutions and stressed the importance of creating a transparent and controlled state assistance system. In this regard, a plan of activities for the state anti-drug program for the next five years is being developed.
Professor Zhenishbek Nazaraliev expressed his readiness to provide methodological support to the Ministry of Health in organizing the work of the new rehabilitation center and attracting experienced specialists in the field of rehabilitation and restorative treatment.
Previously, employees of the State National Security Committee closed the illegal rehabilitation center "Path to Life" in Bishkek, which posed as a clinic for treating addictions but actually became a place of suffering for patients.
