A state reference laboratory will be established in Kyrgyzstan

Late detection of serious diseases remains one of the key issues in healthcare.

Health Minister Kanaybek Dosmambetov recently visited one of the largest private laboratories, where he familiarized himself with the organization of work, quality control systems, and the implementation of digital technologies at all stages of laboratory research. During the visit, the minister instructed to develop a project for the creation of a modern state institution in Bishkek, as reported by the Ministry of Health's press service.

As part of the ongoing reforms, a project is being developed that will include a unified system of standards, high-tech equipment, digital tools, and optimized logistics.

Particular attention will be paid to the quality of research and interaction with medical institutions.

The visit was work-related and aimed at studying best practices that will be taken into account when forming the state laboratory system. The main focus is on improving the speed and accuracy of diagnostics for patients.

As the minister noted, one of the most serious problems in healthcare remains the late detection of severe diseases, including malignant tumors.

Patients often seek medical help at stages III–IV of the disease, which is associated with insufficient accessibility and development of laboratory diagnostics.

"This leads to a loss of time and reduces the chances of successful treatment. A correct diagnosis is half of successful treatment. For timely detection of diseases, the country needs a powerful laboratory base," emphasized Dosmambetov.

The project includes the construction of a laboratory from scratch, equipped with modern diagnostic equipment, as well as the creation of its own logistics system and a digital platform for processing medical data.

It is also planned to organize a network of regional branches operating within a unified system with the central laboratory.

The new model will reduce the time for conducting tests, increase the accuracy of results, and simplify data exchange between laboratories and clinics, as noted in the ministry.
