A forum focused on road safety issues and finding methods to reduce the number of traffic accidents took place in Bishkek. Participants discussed current problems on the roads of the capital and the country, as well as developed specific steps to improve the situation.
Among the participants were high-ranking officials such as the head of the Main Department for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Azhenbek Kozukeev, the head of the Bishkek City Police Department, Azamat Toktonaliev, the deputy mayor of the city, Ramiz Aliyev, as well as representatives from the judiciary, educational institutions, and religious organizations.
The key focus of the discussion was on the causes of accidents and ways to prevent them. Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening government initiatives in road safety, improving infrastructure at dangerous road sections, including lighting, road signs, and pedestrian crossings. It was also noted that there is a need to tighten control over violations related to speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Special attention was paid to prevention. Forum participants were encouraged to conduct regular educational initiatives among the population, expand traffic rules courses in educational institutions, and establish more active cooperation with local communities.
During the discussion, it was noted that the formation of a culture of safe behavior should begin at an early age. Educational institutions were recommended to enhance their work with children and adolescents to foster a conscious attitude towards obeying traffic rules.
Participants of the forum also appealed to drivers and pedestrians, urging them to remember that adherence to traffic rules is a personal responsibility of everyone. Special attention was given to the safety of children and elderly citizens, who are often the victims of accidents.
The forum concluded with a practical part, including creative performances. Participants presented poems about road safety and a mini-sketch illustrating the consequences of violating traffic rules. The event ended with an interactive game on traffic rules knowledge.
The results of the forum were summarized by Azhenbek Kozukeev, who noted that reducing the number of accidents is only possible through the joint efforts of the government and society. He urged everyone to be an example of responsible behavior on the road, promoting the idea of "Safe Roads - Safe Future."
